You gotta love Microsoft and their double standards. Not too long ago they were crying foul over Google replacing their engine with Chrome Frame, while they happily install their own crap into Firefox without the user knowing about it. Guess what, the “crap” Microsoft installs into Firefox has a security vulnerability. The kind folks at Hackademix warmed about this before. I guess they have egg on their face now. Oh, and Mozilla already blacklisted the plugin. Nice going, guys.

Memcached and other tweaks
So I’m fudging with memcached to speed up some sites I have running on this box, I run into namespace clashes in wordpress where several blogs use the same key to access their content. So it all blew up. But I fixed this with some jiggery-pokery. The NCA forum is running fine with it though. I don’t have stats yet on how much things have sped up, but it does look like it has some effect. Less queries hitting my database and stuff is served from memory instead of from disk.
I’ll be keeping a eye on it for now. I hope nothing will break
