New server!

Props to Richard. Really, he has some 1u server that he doesn't use anymore, and I can have it. It's some dual cpu Xeon box with some disk and mem, and it will do fine as an app/web/mail box. I guess I owe him a favor. So, I now need to find a nice secluded space for it (because the machine can be a bit noisy)

It's probably going to host the websites, fora and mail. I have to look at the power consumption of the machine as well, but I' ll figure that out when I get it. It probably has power-management features (like cpu scaling and fan control) which I will probably abuse to cut the operating costs down. So, all in all, it's a nice project :)

The Operating System I am going to run on it will probably be Solaris. Why? Well, because I like Solaris.

So, thanks Richard! It's appreciated.

PS: New blog posts of mine are also twittered as they are published. Neat huh? Oh, my twitter page can be found here.
